I opened the bag to air out for a week or so prior to using. I saw some reviews where ppl complained about a chemical smell. I however did not notice any smell whatsoever when I went camping. I used this so far in 50f degrees temperatures and I am confident it will be fine at even cooler temperatures with a good sleeping pad. I am 5'11" and I had room for days in this bag. It's a bit on the heavy side so if your backpacking this is not for you! I think to prove that point it doesn't even come with a stuff-sack. But if your in the market for a roomey sleeping bag that's very comfortable this is your option.
